          International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

International Student Exchange Program is a worldwide network of 290 universities in 38 countries offering a full immersion study abroad experience. Students enroll directly in a foreign university and can take classes in 英语, or advanced foreign language speakers can take classes in the host country language alongside local students. Students select courses based on their academic program and will have all courses pre-approved before departure to ensure the transfer of credit.

Students selected for an ISEP-Exchange program will pay Westminster tuition, room, and meals, and a $300 Westminster 出国留学 Fee. Students will be billed for ISEP-Exchange fees through their Westminster tuition account. In addition, students pay a $100 application fee and a $325 placement fee directly to ISEP. Students are also required to purchase international health insurance at $86 per month. Students are also responsible for airfare, visa fees, and additional travel and personal expenses. Students interested in ISEP交换 will need to research the chance of placement for each university for which they wish to apply. Some universities are competitive (mainly in western Europe, Australia, and New Zealand) because there are more U.S. students who wish to apply to that university than space available. Exchange programs are based on reciprocity and each ISEP university can only accept as many students as they send out.

ISEP also offers an option called ISEP-Direct. Different from ISEP-Exchange, universities that offer an ISEP-Direct option have established a program cost based on their institution's tuition NOT based on Westminster tuition, room, and meals. Students will pay the Direct program cost to ISEP. Some universities will include tuition, housing, and meals in the ISEP-Direct cost while others may only include tuition or tuition and housing. In addition, students pay a $100 application fee and a $325 placement fee directly to ISEP which goes towards the total price of the program. Students are also required to purchase international health insurance at $86 per month. Students are also responsible for airfare, visa fees, and additional travel and personal expenses. For some locations, ISEP-Direct can still be a low cost option while for other locations it may be more expensive than ISEP-Exchange. Unlike ISEP交换, ISEP直接 is not competitive because reciprocity is not required. 该re is an excellent chance of placement for qualified applicants.

Students participating in an ISEP交换 program can use federal financial aid and Westminster scholarships because tuition, room, and meals are equivalent to Westminster costs and billed through their tuition account. Students participating in ISEP直接 can use federal 经济资助 but NOT Westminster scholarships because the program cost is based on the host institution's tuition and paid directly to ISEP.

Tuition remission and tuition exchange can be used only on ISEP交换. All Tuition Remission and Tuition Exchange forms must be reviewed by the employee, parent, supervisor, the Office for Global Engagement, 人力资源, and the 经济资助 办公室。

Students can also apply for additional scholarships.

Interested students should contact Alison Vasquez, avasquez@westminstercollege.edu, in the International Center before beginning the application process. Students will complete an online application through ISEP which requires a $395 application fee, a personal statement, letter of recommendation, official transcript, and a course request. In addition, students will complete a simple application for Westminster which includes a credit pre-approval form. For ISEP交换, students will typically be encouraged to apply to more than one university using the same application. Many locations of interest to Westminster students are competitive and applying to multiple universities provides a better chance of placement.

          Application Deadlines

          Fall Semester—February 15
          Spring Semester—September 1
As part of the application process, students must have a study abroad advisor recommendation so it is important to complete your application a week before the deadline so the recommendation can be made in time.
